MARTIN BRENNAN
ACADEMY DIRECTOR

As gloveglu Academy director, Martin Brennan takes the lead on all coaching sessions and goalkeeper camps, sharing his expertise with every Keeper who attends.

Martin played as a goalkeeper, beginning as a trainee at Tottenham, before moving to Cambridge United for the 2002-03 season. He then had brief spells with Welling United and Stevenage Borough, before retiring from playing after spending the 2004-05 season with Dagenham & Redbridge.

In 2006 he moved into goalkeeper coaching, becoming under-18s coach at Tottenham Hotspur. In 2008 he joined Wycombe Wanderers as first team goalkeeping coach, a position he held until 2012, when he moved on to Fulham. He coached their under-21 goalkeepers for two years, before being promoted to Fulham first team goalkeeping coach in 2014. Martin is now currently goalkeeper coach at Boreham Wood.

Martin runs gloveglu Academy alongside Paul Sherratt, and shares weekly tips on the glovelgu Academy TikTok, Youtube playlist, and talks all things goalkeeping on the ‘Goalkeeping Podcast’

With nearly 30 years in the sporting goods industry, Paul has helped build sports brands, large and small, in the UK & Ireland. In 2012, he founded the specialist goalkeeping global sports brand gloveglu.

From a simple idea, gloveglu has become the category king for goalkeeping glove care with a range of products to make goalkeeper gloves grippy, stop them smelling and keep them clean. The product range now expands deep and wide into football goalkeeping and has global distribution, with over half a million bottles of ‘grip spray’ sold worldwide. 

Paul is passionate about sport and youth development, and currently manages his local football team. 

Paul and Martin teamed up with the aim of combining World Class goalkeeper coaching, tips & development alongside a brand that is all about innovating and providing the best goalkeeper products on the market.
